Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Malik Shoaib Awan and Senior Vice Chairman Punjab (IHRM) Zafar Gondal discuss educational challenges
(By Zafar Chishti, Bureau Chief Punjab Pakistan) SARGODHA:Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Malik Shoaib Awan held a special meeting with Senior Vice Chairman Punjab of the International Human Rights Movement (IHRM) Chaudhry Zafar Gondal, during which detailed discussions were held on issues confronting educational institutions across Punjab, particularly in Sargodha, educational facilities available to students, growing challenges faced by children and measures for promotion of quality education.During the meeting, Chaudhry Zafar Gondal briefed Malik Shoaib Awan in detail about various problems being faced by educational institutions and difficulties encountered by children in accessing education.
He stressed that the development and prosperity of society were directly linked with quality education and that provision of better and modern educational facilities to children was a pressing need.He further emphasized the importance of providing equal educational opportunities to children belonging to deserving and low-income families so that no child was deprived of education due to financial constraints.On the occasion, Malik Shoaib Awan said that ensuring quality education and proper upbringing of children and securing their bright future was a collective responsibility. He assured that the Punjab Education Foundation would play its role effectively in addressing issues faced by educational institutions and students.He said every possible effort would be made, in accordance with the manifesto of the International Human Rights Movement, for public welfare, protection of human rights and a better future for children.
Malik Shoaib Awan maintained that providing quality educational facilities to children from disadvantaged and underprivileged sections of society was a national responsibility. He said education was the key to producing a talented, responsible and productive generation capable of contributing positively to society.He also underlined the need for effective coordination among relevant government departments, social organizations and civil society to identify shortcomings in the education sector and find practical solutions to them.
Chaudhry Zafar Gondal said the International Human Rights Movement would continue playing its role for the protection of children’s fundamental rights, promotion of education and welfare of society. He said access to education, healthcare and a safe environment was a fundamental right of every child and negligence in this regard could not be tolerated.The meeting concluded with a resolve to strengthen mutual cooperation for resolving educational problems faced by children, promoting quality education, improving educational institutions and ensuring better educational opportunities for deserving children. Both sides agreed to take all possible practical measures in this regard.
